"The Politics of Obamacare Waivers", Colusa Sun-Herald
"Once again the Obama administration is issuing waivers from its controversial Obamacare law in order to make it more politically palatable. With high Catholic populations in key swing states, the Obama administration announced recently that it will give one-year waivers to Catholic and other religious organizations conscientiously opposed to a new regulation".

Despite the monotonous claims by US Rep. Nancy Pelosi and other leaders of her party, the fact is their healthcare law (PPACA) as currently designed, is the real threat to Medicare patients and the programs long-term solvency, not the plan to reform Medicare as proposed by the GOP. "Obamacare Makes Medicaid An Offer States Can't Refuse", Forbes
"At the core of ObamaCare is the individual mandate requiring every citizen to obtain health-insurance coverage with the benefits and provisions specified by the federal government. The way ObamaCare provides for lower-income individuals and families to obtain that required coverage is by forcing the states to offer expanded coverage under Medicaid as a condition of continuing to participate in the rest of the program".
"The states, consequently, no longer retain substantial discretion to determine eligibility or scope and duration of coverage for the program within their respective jurisdictions, which makes the program unacceptably coercive".

"Defend Freedom-Repeal CLASS", National Review
Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D., Mont.) said, “I don’t know how it’s going to come up over here, but [CLASS] does have major long-term financial problems.”
"During the 2009 debate over Obamacare, Senator Kent Conrad (D., N.D.), chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, said the CLASS Act is “a Ponzi scheme of the first order, the kind of thing Bernie Madoff would be proud of.”

"States To Get Socked With Medicaid Tax Under Health Care Law", Salt Lake Tribune
States that are looking to scale back funding for Medicaid and will struggle to find ways to pay the fee.
Thomas Johnson, president and CEO of the Medicaid Health Plans of America, said the report shows how states could be big losers from the tax.
"It is clear from this report that the states will be the ones who will feel the pain of this unintended and misguided policy," he said.
