Sally Pipes: The Ugly Realities of Socialized Medicine

On December 19, Sally Pipes provided an analysis of how the socialized medical systems in Great Britain and Canada were failing patients. Patients were being forced to wait for care far beyond what is prudent and these waits are often resulting in the impairment of the patients ability to work. Elderly patients were particularly maltreated according to the article. One point that is painfully obvious with respect to socialized medicine is that it may results in "guaranteed" health insurance coverage, but coverage does not mean there is access to care.

Poll: Americans Respect Medical Professionals, Not Congress

According to a new Gallup poll, the American public ranks medical professionals highly for honesty and ethical standards. Out of 21 professions test, respondents rank nurses, pharmacists and medical doctors highest. By comparison, only 7% of respondents believe Members of Congress are honest and ethical. This of course begs the question: Who would you trust to help you or a loved one make important medical decisions - a politician or a physician?

ObamaCare Amounts to Several Constitutional Violations

The Daily Caller has a new article written by the CATO Institute's Ilya Shapiro that details the top ten constitutional violations of the Obama Administration. Four of those named involved ObamaCare, including: (1) the individual mandate: (2) Medicaid coercion; (3) the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB); and (4) ObamaCare waivers issued by HHS.
